Farewell Function

The NACAA Farewell function is a chance to wind down at the end of a busy and exciting weekend, and get ready for Monday's astroimaging workshop or the second part of the TTSO symposium. During the event, the Astral Award will be announced and the handover will occur to the LOC for the next NACAA in 2018.

The venue for the 2016 Farewell Function is "Taste Baguette" cafe, which is part of the convention venue, the New Law School Annex at the University of Sydney (follow link for a map).

(Attendance at this function is included in the main registration package.)

A BBQ style meal will be provided.  If you have specific dietary requirements, please advise by using the comments box on the registration form, or email the Convenor. Drinks may be purchased from the bar.

The Welcome Function is a chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones, and get ready for the Convention.

The venue for the 2016 Welcome Function is "Taste Baguette" cafe, which is part of the convention venue, the New Law School Annex at the University of Sydney (follow link for a map).

A semi-formal, three course dinner with an entertaining guest speaker (Profession Fred Watson). Arrival from 6:30pm with a 7:00pm start.

The 2016 Berenice and Arthur Page Medal will be presented by the Astronomical Society of Australia.

Farewell Function

Wind down at the end of a packed weekend, and enjoy a light dinner at the Herbarium in the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. Various prizes will be awarded, including the Astral Award for the best convention presentation. The NACAA shield will be transferred to the next NACAA host. And, weather permitting, the Old Melbourne Observatory will be open for all of us to enjoy looking through vintage telescopes.
