Please note that by March 2016, the only paper tickets available will be single Adult and Concession tickets (trains, buses, ferries and light rail) and return Adult and Concession tickets (trains, ferries and light rail). Alternatively, you can purchase an Opal card which works on all modes of public transport.
The cost of a one-way bus trip within a 3km radius of the venue is $2.10 using an Opal card. A single ticket costs $2.40 for 1-2 sections (MyBus 1 ticket), and $3.80 for 3-5 sections (MyBus 2). 2 Sections is approximately 2.4km*.
It will be difficult to purchase bus tickets on Good Friday. Train tickets and Opal cards can be purchased at vending machines at most railway stations.

* Each section of a bus route is one mile (1.6km) in length. The start of each section is a fixed location, so the price for your trip is not based on its length, but your starting and ending locations. In theory, you could travel only two stops but have travelled two sections. In reality, it's extremely unlikely that anyone would notice if you travelled up to 3km on a MyBus 1 ticket.
