• The National Museum of Australia focuses on Australian history, culture and society. It has a range of changing exhibitons in addition to its usual collection; the exhibition "Water" is on show until 16 May 2010.
• The recently opened National Portrait Gallery hosts a range of public and family programs.
• The Australian War Memorial offers a unique glimpse into the lives of the soldiers (and families) that endure the conflict of war.
• Make a dollar coin at the Royal Australian Mint.
• Questacon, National Science and Technology Centre - Kids, teens and those young-at-heart will love this interactive science exhibit. There are 7 hands-on exhibitions and special 1/2 shows for 2 to 6 year olds and their carers - all included in the admission price.
• The vast and wide ranging collection at the National Gallery of Australia and its magnificent international exhibitions.
• The Canberra Railway Museum houses displays of historic locomotives, passenger cars, freight vehicles, track machinery and railway memorabilia.
• Lanyon Homestead lies at the foot of the Brindabellas and consists of the 1850's homestead and a range of outbuildings set within superb gardens in a landscape of great natural beauty.
• Venture into a miniature world at Cockington Green where meticulously crafted miniature buildings are set within beautifully landscaped gardens.
• Across the road from Cockington Green, is the National Dinosaur Museum which focuses on both education and entertainment.
• Nestled by Lake Burley Griffin, Blundell's Cottage, built about 1860 for workers on the 'Duntroon' estate was lived in until the 1950's.
