Social functions
NACAA has a long tradition of enjoyable social functions throughout the weekend. NACAA XXIII will be no different. The main social events will include
- Welcome party (Friday night): NACAA always welcomes the participants with a party. Finger food, wine and beer, and a chance to catch up with old friends, or meet new ones for the first time.
- Banquet dinner (Saturday night): The banquet will be held at the venue. Highlights will include an entertaining speaker and the presentation of the Berenice Page medal (to be confirmed).
- BBQ (Sunday night): Dinner on Sunday night will be a BBQ held at the University of Western Sydney's Nepean Observatory, in conjunction with the Western Sydney Amateur Astronomy Group. The observatory will be open on the night, and the 55cm telescope will be available for viewing (weather permitting).
There are plenty of other opportunities for social interaction throughout the convention. The full day registration packages include buffet lunches, and morning and afternoon refreshments.
